Many of these ingredients and chemicals are detrimental to our health . Different reports show that adulterated foods are causing serious diseases including diarrhoea and dysentery round the year . Adulterated foods also cause cancer , insomnia , constipation , anaemia , mental retardation , etc. They can also lead to heart problems and high blood pressure . Many people are dying due to food adulteration . There are also many long term effects of food adulteration . A research shows that adulterated food may interrupt a child's mental development .
