A Boy with Ready Wit

A Boy with Ready Wit: One sunny morning an eleven-year-old boy was raising cows next to a railway line. Suddenly he noticed a small rail sleeper about half an hour away. He was at a loss as to what to do. He discussed the matter with his friends. But no one has been able to come up with the right solution so that they can save the next train to arrive immediately.

Suddenly an extraordinary plan came to mind. Once he heard that someone could stop the train by showing something red. With his ready wit he took off his red shirt and lifted it into the air when he heard a train coming along the crack line. He tried to get the driver's attention. Incredibly the driver saw the boy's red shirt and stopped the train just before the crack. The driver got off the train and noticed the line. All the passengers and drivers praised the wise boy for whom they all got new life.
